Celebrating Exodus: Home-based rituals for Christians
On the festival of Pesach (Passover), celebrated on 20 April this year, the Jewish people remember and retell the savings events of Exodus, when God led their people from slavery to freedom. The Exodus story forms part of the biblical heritage of Christians too. Here we explore ways of celebrating Exodus as an in-home table ritual, celebrated by Christians, drawing inspiration from, but without co-opting, Jewish rituals. In this way, the integrity of the religious traditions of both faith communities are respected.

Mysticism and Space
Dr Carmel Bendon Davis is lecturer in the Department of English at Macquarie University and has recently published a book on Medieval Mystics,. It will be launched by Bishop David Walker later in the year. Dr. Carmel has agreed to give a number of Public Lectures on the marvellous world of Medieval Spiritualty, including the works of Hildegard Von Bingen and Julian of Norwich. Watch this space.

Earth Hour has now become an annual event in a number of cities around the world.  Last year, at the first, a friend and I turned off the lights of our houses, and went over with a bottle of wine and some cheese to sit on the lawn at Milson’s Point on Sydney Harbour to watch the city become clothed in darkness.
